Bill, are you sure it's Japanese and not Chinese?....As you know Germany sent China weapons even after they signed the anti-Comintern pact with Japan in 1936....Bodes

It was picked up by a USMC officer on Okinawa. Sling is definitely Japanese writing.. BILL

This is certainly a czechoslovak export piece to Japan. very nice matching piece. b.r.Andy

the word on that tag means "the pig feeding, squad 2""46886"..... they are absolutely traditional Chinese words but not Japanese words, the writing on the sling not sure but may also be Chinese means number 8 and 9...maybe a postwar early PRC army or Taiwan army logistic department(feeding the pigs) issued czech rifle. I speak Chinese and know about some Japanese

The piece looks like very well stored and not heavily used, i personally would tend to a real US GI bringback, i personally dont believe it were used by PRC or Taiwan postwar, it would looks other way. b.r.Andy

this rifle is absulute pre war stuff ,so the major question to me since this thread started how it ended in asia? Japan had good Arisakas so im very courios abaut history why they wanted to get some of vz24 ,i start to think in was realy Chinese import and later taken by Japanese troops ,but i wonder abaut amo for them in Japanes use .intersting it is no?
