    Value dewat Stengun in USA?

What is the value for a Stengun in the States? (de-activated/demilitarized of course)
What would be a reasonable price to offer for this?
I've seen these on the web as low as $250 and as high as $480...
(depending on condition, Mark type and if it's Canadian or UK made...)

Thoughts on this one? Looks like a Mark 1 (early type)

The magwell is marked MkII. For the record it is not a "DEWAT", or DEactivated WAr Trophy simply because that designation really only correctly applies to live MGs that were rendered inoperable by specific means prior to the 1968 Amnesty. For practical purposes here are two types of DEWATS in the US; registered, which are legal to reactivate to live, firing condition; and unregistered, which may not be legally possessed by non-law enforcement or government.
This gun pears to have been built as a dummy, but without a description of the manner of construction it is difficult to tell if it actually meets the requirements for a dummy made in the US using original STEN parts.
A high quality, legal dummy in the US might be worth US$300 at best.

Thanks! So technically not a Dewat...OK! A built up dummy (from a parts kit).
No problem! I will offer $275 and see what happens!

I've bought and sold in the past.

The Mk2 is the most commonly found dummy in the US.

For me, $175-$270 is the correct range.

The gun pictured is a Japanese "non-gun".....made by the CMC company....no real Sten parts whatsoever....

the good news is that the earlier Japanese replica guns have a pretty dedicated following....and the CMC Sten is fairly desirable....I'd personally rather have it than a few (real) Sten Mk2 parts hung on an aluminium dummy receiver....

          250-300 is a good deal

Thanks. I will adjust my offer to less money since it is not ww2 vintage.

It's actually worth more than a dummy made from real Mk2 parts.....

              A Mk2 parts set is only 139.00.........

That is a nice replica -
                Interesting mag design.
The CMC replicas are not common at all -

                  Thanks. I appreciate the help!
Now that we know CMC is a replica I have made an adjustment and offered $150 for it + $25 for the (real) web sling is $175 total, since it is not a WW2 artifact

Modelgun collectors, and they do exist pay about $450 a pop for the Hudson, CMC Stens.
They are not made anymore, and don't turn up often -

I'd drop $350 or so on one in this condition, they're great for movie work as hand props, I don't have to worry about them being loaded with blanks and they look great even in a close up.

                      CMC Sten modelgun

Many thanks to bmg17a1, villafuego, and the other posters in this thread! It turns out that what I have, and had thought was a DEWAT Sten, is in fact a CMC modelgun, though not nearly as good condition as the one NickG showed.
I would like to sell the one I have; any suggestions as to how to find a buyer? (US/Virginia)
