    Magazines!

Gentleman, Im expecting a package within ten days from the "Old World" within this package there is to be a VERY nice selection of magazines to include P38 mags. They are to include every maker and also the RARE "ac" marked magazine.

They are to be in VERY nice condition, I have decided to offer them first to forum members and then use other sources to dispose of them. If this is something you might need please start see'ing what specifically you need.

I will post a reminder on this forum but as per rules they will be posted on the estand, now "Im not trying to use my position here to enhance my sales, Im giving forum members first shot at them".

In the event anyone feels that this "plug" is out of line let me know and I will not post anything except on estand. They will be sold one way or the other and I thought who better to get first crack then my forum members.

I can't give prices or conditions as they are being mailed and will need to inspect them, I would think that a first come first served once on the estand would be the best way.

    Robert
PS. I can just see Matt foaming at the mouth

    Robert,

Already have several of each maker, and even the "AC" marked ones! Those are actually armorers' replacement mags. If you lost or damagaed a magazine, they simply replaced it with the "AC" coded ones! Not all that rare, but definately a must have for the P38 collector!
I will email you my "wish list" though!

      Matt,
With all the p38 stuff I have, I've never held a "ac" marked magazine. I can tell you on ebay they draw a pretty penny. Anyway I will as I said give the forum first crack.

        Robert,

None?!?!?! I find that hard to believe.
Well then this photo here probably won't make you feel too good.
I had a large group of these in about a year and half ago, and sold off just about all of them. I kept one of each kind for myself though of course.
Here is one of the Walther arsenal replacement magazines, marked, "AC" on left side.

There are 4 different types of these arsenal replacement magazines, and the markings on the magazine will determine when it was made. These can be used as replacement magazines in all P38 variations.

The type 1 will have only the "AC" on the side (no P38 logo), and will have double proof markings on the spine (one high and one low). These were made in 1940-1941.

The type 2, will have "P.38" and "AC" below that. It will also have double proof markings (one high and one low). These were made in 1941-1942.

Type 3 will have "P.38" and "AC" below that, and will have only one "eagle/359" proof marking on the spine. These were made in 1942-1943.

Type 4 (shown above), will have "P.38v" and "AC" below that, and will have only a single "eagle/359" on spine. These were made from 1943-1945.

Here is a photo of my current spare P38 magazines. These are only my spare mags. All the other mags I have are with pistols and/or holsters already!

Collecting P38 magazines is almost a totally seperate hobby on it's own. (kind of like P38 holsters too!)

          Enjoy!

            Mags,

            Matt,

Truly, I have never owned an "ac" marked magazine. Actually the picture of your impressive P38 magazine collection makes me very excited about what will be hitting my front porch... I never get upset at the success of fellow forum members.

I hope that I will be able to provide you with several items that will add to your already advanced collection, I recognize you as a very advanced p38 collector and forum member.

            Regards,
            Robert

              Robert,

Yes, I could always use more P38 mags. Believe it or not, I do not have every single variation.....YET!
Hopefully your stash has some of the ones I'm looking for!

With collecting P38 mags, there is always a chance you can still get lucky. I've been to several shows, where dealers have boxes full of mags, and let you just pick through them all. As long as you know what you are looking for sometimes you can find some real gems for low prices!
My best score on mags was at the FDL show about 2 years ago. Didn't find a single thing at the show, and was heading towards the door. The guy at the very last table had a box full of magazines. I asked what he all had in there, and he couldn't tell me, since it was a mix of just about everything under the sun.
So I began to pick through them. I found 5 magazines that I wanted, and offered him $100 for them. He didn't flinch at all, and took the $$. Well, I got two zero series P38 mags, one "eagle/135" mag, one "jvd" with "eagle/359"(Walther proofed) and one Browning Hi-power mag "eagle/WaA103" proofed!
Boy did I leave that show a happy camper!!

              Matt
