Check out the P38 Forum. Those guys wrote the books.

The definitive books about P.38s were written by Warren Buxton. There are 3 volumes. You can still find them around but they are not cheap. Some of the info is dated, however. A new book is being worked on by a fellow in Germany. It is not available as yet. He is supposed to have an English translation but it will probably be next year before it is published.
