If I were you I'd start checking the surrounding area with a metal detector!

Nice find, looks to be the remnants of a Patronenkasten 1500.
Are there any traces of the labels on the 15 round cardboard boxes?

              My thoughts exactly.

Superb find and thanks for sharing with the community

Excuse my ignorance but are cartridges found in a condition like this this dangerous?

                Booby traps mines or
                Genades I guess
The rounds are not very dangerous

Dangerous enough to take a finger off or maim a hand. Those primers aren't stable. How do I know this? We did a dig on an old range in NZ and on the way home had a round discharge in the trunk rattling around. Luckily it exited straight out and we weren't on a highway yet. I would expect that if our ground dug 303 rounds were still dangerous, so would these be.
