    Hi All
    What do you all think of this mg42 Butt, is it ok or a fake? There was a thread on here with one like this but had mixed reviews what about the markings?
    If ok would like to buy?

            Original but it's been stripped with some kind of chemicals. I have an original I'll post pics of later

              Hi thanks for the thumbs up, the light wood worry so me still would like to see your mg42 butt for comparison

              Sure saw a post on here with similar butt but was fake would like to buy this but need to be 1000% about it

                That is a fake stock. There are a few floating around. I purchased one for 75 to keep for comparison. The stampings are not the same and the hook for the hand is thinner and rounded not like the original. It is made to fool people.

                    Here are Moore photos does not look like the fake posted on this threat the hook for the hand is not thinner and and the wood pin is higher see link and photos but I am having my doubts

                        Definitely a fake. They're all over deact MG42's at the minute in the UK. Nicer than an M53 stock for display, but still not an original at the end of the day.

                          Absolutely fake. The hook in completely different ans shaped wrong. The stamps are also wrong and the eagle stamp is different. Here is a pic of mine in the middle of a bunch of good ones.

                            The reinforced dowels are also to far forward. Since I forgot to mention that and the picture is posted showing there location. I also posted a pic in the other thread showing the wrong hook shape.

                              Ok guys I'm sold on the fact this is a fake a bloody good one and fooled me all I need now is a real one embody want to sell me one!
