    Info on Sjl factory code.

Does anyone have information on which factory the Sjl code belonged to.
This is on an original M20-42 magazine.
I cannot find the code listed on any list -
I would like to know who made the magazines -
It is not the Krieghoff code.

The FG in the Springfield Armory Museum appears to have the same code:
Springfield Armory Museum - Collection Record
    http://ww3.rediscov.com/spring/VFPCG...BASE=61604616,
    Markings:
    Receiver: FZS/FG42/04522.
    Bolt: 4522x FZS.
    Stock: 4207.
Trigger guard, magazine housing and magazine housing flaps: FZS.
    Magazine: SJL (manufacturer's code)/01.

This one at Rock Island Auction, too:

OK - no one has info. on the FG42 magazine factory/batch code.

    It was a long shot

    Another FG question:

The First model (E-type) sling clip is elongated.
    While;
The Second model (G-type) sling clip was shortened.

In pictures of the original (G-type) sling clip it looks like an MG34/42 sling-clip might substitute - obviously the leather section of the sling is different.

(The FG42 leather being set up like a rifle sling, while the MG34/42 sling is split in lengthwise for a section, and reinforced.)

But, could someone with access to an original FG42 sling clip compare it to an original MG34/42 sling-clip - and tell me if they inter-change, as they appear to in photos.

Answer here - or PM me discreetly, if you so wish.

    Thank you.

None of the above is covered in Death from Above: Thomas B Dugelby & R Blake Stevens. Or, German Automatic Rifles: Chris McNab, or German Submachine Guns and Assault Rifles WWII: Aberdeen Proving Grounds Series. Which are my FG go to books.
