Numbers matching BYF 43 mauser 98k values?

I am trying to help a buddy who is buying a house and looking to sell his firearms, one of the guns is this minty Mauser with no import marks, no sling that he wants to sell. I've been on Gunbroker, Simpson ltd etc but what is a fair 'real world' collector to collector price? I know its hard to do without pics and I have not seen the piece yet myself. Any ballpark ideas, I know some of you out there live and breathe 98ks. To you guys this is an easy question?

Without knowing condition or any other info, ~$1500 +/- if it's a laminate stock. More if walnut. If mint condition and walnut stock probably $2k+

Sure, Matching anything K98's are 2K+ nowadays. Almost becoming investment vehicles!

You can´t find them very often in germany too, but the Price!

Matching k98s are not rare in the U.S. But they are sought after so they still get expensive. There are common codes (such as byf43 and byf44) that can be had readonably, but of course there are some rare codes that get very very expensive.
