Yup, we sold a few in the weeks before the ban. The reasoning given was that it "could" be used for long range sniper attacks. Not that one has been used in a crime in America, but it "could" be.
It is not going to be illegal to own one as long as you owned it before 01-01-05 and have it registered with the DOJ , and after that you can't buy anymore. And its not just the Barrett brand, its ANY gun that shoots the .50 BMG round will be banned from sale.
