MP44 and Grandchild

Or great grandchild depending on your point of view. While finishing up some pictures for an E-Book, I thought it would be neat to take a few pictures comparing the MP44 to a few other rifles. One of them I'd like to share is an HK93 and, although the overall designs are quite different, the blood lines are immediately obvious:





Now if I could only get my hands on an STG45......

Yep, you can see the CETME/H&K line deriving from the MP family. I like grandad best.

They certainly look similar but they operate entirely differently. The MP44 is a gas operated system whereas the HK's are roller delayed blowback.

Thats true, but who in the world can show us the StG 45 as real grandpa of the G3 family?
Or the MP45?
