P38 ac41 opinion, please.

Hi all.

I need opinions for this P38 because I see something unusual on the left side of the gun. It seems to have been high temperature and bluish disappeared. To the right of the mark ac41 is a fissure in the steel. This gun has been repaired by welding ?.

Maybe somebody tried to cold blue the spot that was worn to the metal?....Cold bluing can do some funky looking things....Bodes

And the crack in the steel?,
I think that there is a crack to the right of ac41.

It sure looks like a crack. Cracks in that location on a P.38 are not all that rare. There was a weakness in the slide at that location. The earlier P.38s seemed to crack more than the later ones.

The front sight is not original.
