This is the RIFLE a Steyr produced 29/40 which is exactly the same as a 98k that so many German weapon book authors confuse with the Steyr produced Luftwaffe Carbine or as known by collectors The 29(o)... Check your books... BILL

A rather scarce rifle - too bad some bubba went to town sanding the stock and reblued the rifle...oh well can't have everything.
The super scarce 29/40's are the examples assembled from salvaged w98 and Wz29 receivers. And yes the polish receiver has a larger dimension in the recoil shoulder , which if one tries to put it in a 98k stock it won't fit unless you route out the wood in the bottom flat of receiver recoil shoulder mortice.
