ID of Unit Markings on Buttplate of Kar 98 (1909/1920 Danzig #64c)?

Here are the unit markings found on the buttplate of a Kar 98 (Danzig 1909/1920) that I recently acquired. I would very much appreciate any information regarding the identity of the unit that is represented by the marking.

In particular, was the unit a Weimar-era unit or is the marking from WWI? If WWI, can anyone provide any wartime history for the unit?

    Thanks!
