Need help identifying who made this mortar

Hi Guys,

The mortar supposedly contains original German paint and markings from WWII, but it is not a German mortar.

Does anyone recognize this mortar? Any idea of the country of origin?

I believe the mortar is a 50mm French Model 37...BILL

Thanks Bill. I was thinking it might be the French M-37, it does have some similarities. But it is also quite different than most examples of the M-37 I have found on-line, including yours.

I wonder if this could be an earlier model of the M-37, or a similar model used by a neighboring countries like Belgium or Luxembourg.
