unknown (regimental?) markings on a P08 - Help needed

Hello,
a friend has a P08 with the markings O.P.M. 946.
The gun itself is far off having matching numbers. In fact it is assembled with WW1 and WW2 parts. But it has been like this since the end of WW2 when it was stored away. Bits and pieces from everywhere, and those markings that could be WW1 or WW2, but I think it might be WW1?
Mabe we get some help here what these might be.

I believe that the consensus was that these were police markings, probably Mecklenburg, and from the just post WW1 period.

Do you have a link to a discussion that lead to the Consensus? Was there a therad with a similar gun?
