    MP43 stock?

    Greetings,

Based on photos I've studied, I believe this is an original MP43 butt stock however I'm not positive.

Any information and opinions would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Looks like one -

Here is mine against an MP44 stock -
I guess they narrowed them down to fit in the K98 vehicle-racks.

      Thanks for the comparison photos.

Does the "ayf" stamp on my stock look right? In the photos I've looked at, there's either no stamp in that location or the stamp is very small.

The 17 ridges and associated wear on the shoulder area looks good -
The aged gunk and screw heads all look good -

I haven't seen an ayf factory marking that size in that position before -
I am not an expert on the MP43, just a collector - maybe others have an opinion.

To be honest there seems to be a lot of variance in the MP43's, a mixing of parts from the earlier Mkb42, MP43 + MP43I - Your stock could be early, and marked differently.

The MP43 stocks I have run into in person (not the RIA specimens) tend towards the chipped and gauged like mine and yours.
