Guys in their late 70's doing this, that is crazy. And the guys who do gun shows like I do know that you always watch other dealers more then customers.

For years many of the thefts have been on dealer set up more so than during show hours. These guys are toast with cameras and face recognition, more shows should take such an approach.

I too have had items mysteriously disappear during "dealer setup". At one time, I used to set up my tables and leave everything uncovered while I walked around but I had to quit doing that.

My friend puts his laptop on record during setup for this very reason. Pipes it to his cellphone so he can keep an eye as well as a record if someone gets all sticky fingery.
