    Rust on Parkerized pistol?

Hi guys! Just wanted to ask a quick question. I left my NM copy Remington Rand in the trunk of my car for a week in the soft case (normally leave it with a friend due to the rules of where I live and realized there was a leak. While the trunk itself was not saturated (I checked on the gun about every other day), today before I cleaned it I noticed tiny spots of rust near the grip and on the mainspring housing and around the base. They cleaned off real quick, but still have to get a tiny spot off the front checkering.

My question is when it comes to parkerizing, does rust normally form that quickly and pit the metal? It looks like it blurred the finish before but the pistol already appearing to have been rearsenaled and reparked over the pitting.

    Thanks!

tough to say without seeing it.. The park finished was used as it was more durable and less hesitant to rust. Most of the time long term they brown up not really rust up. The rust spot if fresh may just wipe off but, will leave a ring. That's gonna stay to remind you never to do that again !!!

      Mauser,

Thanks! Definitely were tiny spots that were wiped away with Hoppes and oil. Unfortunately, I do see the tiny dark spots that have stayed behind. :/ I never do this, but I left it there because I intended to bring it back Monday when my watch was supposed to be ready from the repair shop. Still hasn't come back and this is the joys of procrastination!
