    Unknown piston/carrier discovered

    Hi,

    recently I dug out 2 different pistons in the forests of the Luxembourg Ardennes.

    1 of those, the upper, longer one, is well known to me : it is for the MP44 or Stg44 and not rare to find.

    But the second, shorter one, is unknown to me at the moment.
    It resembles the 1st one in some details but is in fact completely different.

    Could anyone here help me and tell me which MP this part is made for ?

      my guess is that top one is from MP/StG, the other one is from MkB 42H

          You're welcome Mkb 42 fires from open bolt, therefore different design.
