    v1933 - continuation of indentification (mauser_

    I found this K98 rifle to have 1933 on the stock (cut in) it looks just like an early war k98. it's serial number (I guess) is on the left side of the reciver and says v1933.. this is also on the floor plate and the arm of the bolt..

    I still can't post a picture of it, but I would like to know what exactly it is.. someone said it might be a standard modell of 1933 in here. I would like to know more about the history of these rifles if that is what this rifle is.

      Your rifle is a Yugoslavian M48. It's a post war rifle built on an intermediate action, and modeled after the FN M1924 series of rifles. The number 1933 is your rifles serial number. Your particular rifle is sometimes refered to as a M48 BO since it lacks a communist crest on the receiver. These sell in the 200-300 dollar range at the retail level.
