J.p.sauer&sohn sniper rifle

Hi i'm a sword guy i had to buy this rifle to get a group of swords it was buy all or buy none. i'm going to sell it as soon as i can but i have no idea what it's worth i paid a $1000.00 for it did i over pay.

there is no scope for it the guy i bought it from said his brother sold the scope last year. that he took all the scopes off all the rifles and sold them.

any info on this rifle would be appreciated.

This rifle is worth about $350-$450. It is an almost complete mix of serial numbers, the stock has post-war alterations (likely from Yugoslavia) and the scope mounts are not military. The upper band is set too far back meaning the stock was likely cut and repaired. There is little demand for rifles like these in the collector market. The main customer is someone looking for a cheap hunting rifle.

Bob I hope you got very nice swords out of this deal. If you can post some picture of the grouping on blades forum. I agree about the value of the rifle. It is put together rifle.
