    Does the slide have the single extractor cut or two? I can't tell for sure from the posted pictures.

            It appears the slide has only one extractor cut. That means the slide was made after mid 1943. I can't explain the grips but the rest of the gun could well be a post plant capture put together. The serial number on the barrel could date it to that period of 1945, also.

            The dural frame was used on a very few Walther HPs in about 1941. Your frame could be a left over or reject from that period and was later assembled into a complete gun for whatever reason.

            The Third Reich Germans likely did not do it. I have seen a few pistols that seemed to be post plant capture assemblies.

            Interesting piece. I would like to know more about the grips and what they are made of. Like was mentioned earlier in this thread, they appear to be a phenolic resin over a canvas material somewhat like the late 1930s K98k resin stocks.
