    08 markings

    Hello experts

Im not into firearms but a good friend asked me for a favour yesterday, to post his photo here. He is asked about those markings, if they are ok?
. these are on a G Model and there are no other markings except the serial numbers.
    Thanks in advance

The markings look very fake. The acceptance markings appear more oriental than the correct markings.

      Hi,

Maybe the gun is refinished .....
Seems that the markings are just grinded.

        quite interesting opinions so far...
The thing was a german hidden barn find. It had quite some rust all over it due to the bad storage. He then cleaned it gentley and with care to keep most of the original blueing.
It was found 2years ago but no one knows how long it sat in that barn before that. One thing of note, it was a quite used gun in its glory days..the metal frame on the grips area are nearly blank with no blueing..so it was holded in hand very very often.
        All serial numbers match.
I asked for more photos...to show the whole thing here.

they are early acceptance proofs from a G or K date, looks like someone was mimicking them with a screw driver or the gun was polished and refinished.

Several different acceptance stamps were used during production of the G Date P.08's, but those don't look like any of them. The Eagle proof is way off also.

ok.. i could get better photos of the whole from him.
my friend is in the hunting business and has a couple modern hunting rifles but he knows nothing about old pistols..its probably nothing fancy anymore but any info is much appreciated..
as you can see the magazine is not complete anymore.
it was cleaned from the rough rust with some oil together with 00 steel wool..

Not even close . Actually dug out Hallocks book to see how far off and they are indeed not close .

This is what they were trying to immitate IMO

Definitely and the 5th pic looking straight at the barrel serial number clearly shows this . Messed with area is blued . I would not call it a replica . I would call it messed with . Still is a Luger .

And it's not all matching. The extractor is a different number and the opening for it in the chamber area looks like it's been crudely redone,

It looks like the barrel gage number was deliberately removed.
