I need a hood for my rifle so: question...are these original front sight hoods? Seller states they are, and for Kar 98k, G41 and Kar43. I thought they were different for each model.

The third on the right front is taller, so it belongs to an G43 or an Mp44, sorry at least one of the others seems to be new made as the lips are smaller, but it could be good too !Comment

Thanks, they are probably good then. So I have to get the lower one. I have found another seller who also has some. Their prices are 15 € in both cases. I imagine it is OK, as repros are selling between 4 and 10€.

Just realied that the follower and floor plate are not numbered...does that mean they are not original to the rifle?

Well, about 2 years later I decided to buy a hood for my Kar 98k. In fact I bought three (I usually buy spares, so I can later trade or sell) but they seem not to be the same size... I decided to keep the one at the left, as I believe it is correct for a Kar 98k (19.5mm).
The other two are 2 mm higher (21.5), so I imagine they are for Gew43 or StG 43-44.

Hi,
As you refer to the proof house are you located in the UK? if so nice live k98's are a rare commodity, I have I believe the best one in the uk. Fully matching all original finish ,only has slight wear in places.
