    Wanted to show my 1943 1918A2 BAR. It's the closest, at this time, I will come to owning an original. I wish I could say that this is a fully functioning 1943 BAR, but unfortunately it's not. It is currently only a display piece. What you're looking at is a Philadelphia ordinance 80% BAR receiver built on an early World War II BAR parts kit. I had the groove for the top plate machined, had it engraved, and I added the faux serial number with hand stamps. Then I had the receiver parkerized, and with some fine steel wool, gave it a slightly worn appearance. The carry handle would have been a later addition. Hope you enjoy it!

        Very very nice America's most decorated combat hero since Audie Murphy David Hackworth in his book About Face said the BAR save his ass & others more than once while in Korea.

                Very nice work! Those philadelphia ordnance 80% receivers were beautiful.
