    Mystery Musket

I recently acquired this cap lock musket with some other firearms. At 1st I thought it was a U S piece which for some reason doesn't have a marked lock but it matches no issued examples I can find. Additionally there are no marks to be found anywhere except for what is probably a barracks stamp ont he left side of the stock. Another usuaual point is that it has no barrel bands to secure the barrel to the stock. The smooth bore mikes at approximately 70 caliber. Let me know if additional photos are needed. I would appreciate any forthcoming help!

I'm being told elsewhere that this is a Nepalese copy of an Enfield musket. Many of these came into the country several years ago when a "hoard" was found that had been in storage for over 100 years.
If anyone else knows or thinks diferently please post what information you may have.
