    WW1 Gew 98

Hey Guys, I'm trying to find a nice all matching WW1 GEW 98, I've searched the web and really haven't come across anything worth mentioning. Anyone know a good site that deal in these. Looking for a wartime date marked with the DWM. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Glenn

Just by coincidence I've been looking for one too in England, and I can't find one either!

For some reason these have somewhat non extant. Same same 98a.

I found a matched 98a about 5 years ago, 1st and last original I saw in years.

These have always been scarce, much harder to find than matching WW2 98ks. I bought my first one in 1972, an all matched 1904 Spandau. I still have it. Over the years I have picked up 6 or 7 more, not only because I like them but also because they show up so rarely. They were never imported commercially, and it was much more difficult for the doughboys to bring or send longarms home than it was after WW2. Good luck!

            Hey Glenn,

Unfortunately I can't assist but given your previous tenacity in acquiring '43 "stuff" I have no doubt you will ultimately be successful.

Good luck and happy new year!

            Cheers

                Hi,
I saw one a couple of months ago at Mansfield gun shop not sure if it's still there.

They are in high demand nowadays because of the WWI 100 years anniversary
I've been looking for one too and no luck :-(
