Has anyone ever seen a bnz 4 98k with no serial number on the receiver ring?

A lot of K98k are numbered on the barrel not the receiver.

They do exist I had a Salut K98 while living in Germany I believe it was a 44 DUV that hat it on the barrel the receiver never had one. I believe these would be considered illegal now where I live in the US as the receiver here counts as a weapon not the barrel or other parts. I think it would be possible to own if the gun is complete but having it as a bare receiver would land you in jail.

I can not speak to what your state laws may be, some are very messed up for sure, but there is NO Federal law state states that a firearm made without a serial number on the frame (or receiver) is illegal.....that's a fact. As a matter of fact it is not illegal by Federal Law to own a firearm that has NO serial number as long as it was manufactured without one......and tens of thousands of them were (in the US) prior to 68.

            Thanks

I bought a double claw bnz 4 SS rifle. It is the first 98k of the many that I own or have owned that did not have a number on the receiver ring. The barrel as numbered.
