I'm by no means an expert, but I do own 8 matching K98k, one published in Kreigsmodell, and I would agree the bolt in that gun is bad. Sorry.

"K" on 1937 S/42 Mauser K98k

That's not good news. Luckily I didn't pay $1995 for it. I took a good look and it is definitely reworked. The band spring number also doesn't match. It's also a "duffel cut" stock.
Taking all of this into consideration, how much is this K98k worth?

Most reworks have the full four digits of the serial number on the bolt body with only the last two on the safety, shroud, cocking piece and firing pin. In addition, most reworks have the rework facility mark in the grip area. This looks more like a modern fake than a wartime rework. Supporting this theory is the addition of the junk sling and a postwar rod. If honestly represented this is about a $600-$700 rifle. Not a lot of demand for fakes--most of the buyers of these misrepresent them in an attempt to profit on newer collectors. The OP mentioned a duffle cut--this does not have much of an effect on value.
