info on p38 holster needed

HI ALL just purchased this holster with belt & buckle can anyone help on the stamps
maker ord. inspector & what does the cww stand for ?? thanks the belt is unit stamped photos posted on the belt/buckle forum

I also found this information on the internet....Hope Leon doesn't mind...

"cww was the code for Karl Weiss Lederwarenfabrik, Braunschweig. Eugene Bender in his book on WWII holsters does not list 195 as a known waffenamt number for cww. 195 is often seen on repros so I would be very careful."

I cannot make out what your WaA is, so I cannot say for sure whether/not the information above pertains to your holster....Yours look to be original by the photo posted....

It looks like the WaA number may be 392 and that is a known number for Karl Weiss. The holster looks original to me.

The WaA is short for waffenamt which means weapons office. They supplied the inspectors and each inspector was assigned a number. The inspector could assigned to one factory or a number of factories in the same area.
