    My second favorite assault rifle

    OK, so the rifle isn't WWII period. Its still COOL! 5 points to the first person to correctly identify it.

          Is that an FN FAL rifle, 7.62mm/.308cal?

            Roy is correct I think. The British Army used a version of this rifle, the "SLR" or "Self Loading Rifle" for many years.

              You are close. It is indeed an FN/FAL but I'm looking for an experten who can ID the exact model. A hint is it was imported into the USA in 1960. This is real esoteric and will seperate the men from the boys as it were.

                Just a guess - is it a selective fire trials piece that was turned down on favour of the US M14?

                  Good attempt but sadly not THAT rare! There were only a few of those. This is one of slightly more than 1800(and is a subset of that).
