Mg 08 grease can ?

receive this one in uncleaned condition after light removing of dust a nice color
with patina is to see . only the v marked on the sides are misterious construction
of can is similar to condensat can of ww 1 . is it german ww 1 or interwar

I'd say it's a water can transformed into a spare part box. V for Vorrastkasten.

little hole for spare parts and a lot of work for transformation from a water can to a
normal amo can . other opinions ?

i have the same box, mine was converted from a water cooling box, they welded the hole where the tab used to be closed. I am also still wondering as to the exact use of this box....

I agree with Carles, this ex-water box was transformed to carry spare parts. V means Vorratskasten!
