Unoriginal front sight on a K98k?

This is my first post on this website so please be gentle. Any help would be upmost appreciated.

I'm considering buying another K98k but the front sight seems a bit off to me. The sights are similar to sights found on the K98a model, which I understand is a prototype to the final K98k, the rifle has also got different sling attachment, on the regular K98k the sling is mounted on the side, but on this rifle there’s also sling mounts on the bottom of the rifle. Does anybody know what kind of rifle this really is? The seller says it’s a K98k from 1937, all numbers matching. He is asking around 1 000 USD for the rifle.

G'Day, Mate, I think (there are guys on here with much better knowledge than me ) that is a Portuguese 98 (german made on contract) The German s did two contract shipments for them and if it is one of the 1937's they are getting rare if all numbers are matching. So you have to decide what you really want ...A german used K98 or the one on offer? Good luck with your choice.
