Question about German deacts

Hello,

I have a question about German deacts, specifically STG44s. I know of UK old-spec with the barrel closed and the bolt removed. What exactly is done to German spec Deacs?

hi Graham
this is the German way :

-barrel drilled 6 times
-barrel welded at bullet chamber
-steel pin in barrel
-barrel welded to frame
-bolt cut 45 degrees
-firing pin channel of bolt closed
-belt transport mechanism in topcover fixed (this where the changes done to my ZB37 machinegun)

Also what exactly is done to uk old specs? i know about the chamber but what is generaly done to barrels?

And here is the Canada standard. Barrel filled. Barrel drilled at receiver and pin fitted. Takedown level welded. Bolt shaved.

New standard says no moving parts, just lump of metal, vaguely gun shaped.

Slotted, overbored and pinned.. deactivating barrels in the UK AFAIK has not changed from 1988, 1995 to 2010, it is the rest of the gun that the regulations have tightened up on..
