German grenade launcher pouch question

Does anyone have any information on a German greande launcher pouch with D rings sewn on the sides instead of the ones with the web strap sewn right onto the pouch itself? A freind of mine has one it's marked jsd 1942. I've never seen one like it, all mine are the standard ones with the sewn on strap.

These are just a variant of the regular pouch, used by whomever got them - no Special ss-elite-FJ-or-simular-item...
