My dad served in Germany late in the WWII and early post war. He brought home a P.38 in a holster that I remember seeing as a kid, but had forgotten it until I received it after he passed. He obtained it from his brother-in-law who was an MP he encountered in Germany.
I've done some research on the gun, but would like to make sure. I believe it was manufactured in 1945, in the second group of 10,000, by Walther. The clip appears to have been made after they stopped using the hardening process. The holster appears to be original.
I've attached pictures (Hopefully, as this is my first post [IMG][/IMG]) that I hope show all the appropriate numbers and symbols I learned about from other posts.
Any specifics you all can share about this P.30 will be appreciated!
Thanks, Lee
