P38 with Walther Banner... "Mod. HP" with holster.... value help please??

I have a chance to pick this up.. I believe it's an early Heerespistol version.. but past the date of the ones sent away? This is a vet bringback.. so maybe a private purchase sidearm of a soldier??

As you can see it has some condition issues, and it is missing the firing pin and has no magazine. I can fix these things so no biggie.

Am I right to think this thing is worth it? What would a good value for this be in this condition with holster? I am at a loss, and used to making offers on really good conditioned items.

    Thanks for any input.

    -Brian

so would this be more desirable than a waffenmarked Wehrmacht version in similar condition since there were less of these produced?

Jump on it. For this price, I wouldn't hesitate even if it comes without the holster.

Yes with holster. . I will probably come closer to his price.

So it's worth that even with no firing pin and mag? Aren't these firing pins different? (Hard to find?)

I think I will pick it up though.. we meet sometime this week.

Thanks guys.. from the initial bad pics it was very hard to tell what he had. There is also a k98 but in very very bad condition. . It looks like someone started to sand the stock with the receiver in.

Is there a way to date these commercial models??

                            thanks,
