      Looks like a civilian police holster.

        Appears to be a modified Police holster. As I doubt a military belt suspension would be at an angle like this is.. Plus a very crude sewing job on adding the Pistol Belt hanger.

          Actually the holster is not at an angle, only the flap closure is at an angle since a revolver grip is located farther back than on an automatic.

              Johnny, My "BAD". That SNAFU was due to the lateness of the hour. Being an Ole'(and I do mean OLD ) Arkie myself, I have a hard time getting used to the late hours of this Big City way of life.

                1920's would be a good guess. Probably a motorcycle cop.

                  It's not likely civilian as it has the web gear attachment. Probably for post war U.S. Air Force security police, around 1950's. It has the swivel allowing the holster to move when seated. Full flap was used immediately post war, later changing to strap retention in the 1960's.
