Would that be a period salesman sample? or is it a modern model?

My wife works for the company that owns this museum, Sherline products, and manufactures the machinery used to make these miniatures. I've seen many of these first hand and they truly are impressive in detail. Sadly the owner Joe Martin, passed on a short time ago but his legacy and company continue on.

That would be called a modern model. Here is one I made, it does not fire but is approx. 1/9th scale. There is no firing pin but everything else works.

Rbminis - that is wonderful work -

The Youtube video in the OP - is amazing - the little cartridges are pretty impressive!

                Great stuff -
I could absolutely use a miniature Mg42 on a Lafette in my office -

                    Both are impressive pieces!

I was reading the bio of the guy on YouTube. To spend 2000 hours (the average number of hours one works in a year) is simply amazing and a true testament to his passion and dedication.

Isn't this one of the same metalworking machinery found on U-boats?
