Non Waa marked German wartime made pistols - made for whom?

    Hi Guys,

Would like to know a bit more about non-waa marked German wartime produced handguns. Who would have gotten hold of these guns? Would officers who bought their own hand guns have non waa marked guns? All help as always much appreciated. Thanks!

    Cheers, W

You are correct, no Waa marked guns are termed "commercial" and so were for purchase for those who would not be otherwise issued a pistol, officers being the largest buyers, but also NCO's or even enlisted troops desiring a sidearm. Also, any number of various political, administrative and quasi-police organizations who carried side arms, but did not obtain them through military channels.

In 1941 or 1942 the German government decreed that ALL male civil servants be armed at all times.
