    Lewis gun magazine carrier box

    Hello,

    I found a lewis gun magazine carrier box in the bavarian alps (strange place for this box...)

    The box is a little bit modified. Is it from WW2 or WW1?

    I didn't find some marker stamps on the box.

    Maybe there is a linkage between this box and the second bag from this thread (they all were found together)? http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=755281

      I think the box will leave me - because it's not my collecting field...

        I don't know much about your one - or why it was where you found it.

        Also, if one looks at any WW2 German war-time propaganda photo's - the allies (depicted by German's in costume) are always armed with Lewis guns - so they must have had access to a few.
