    Thats great news!

So it is correct then that the barrel is not stamped with the serial number on my HP?

I haven't seen another HP like mine before thats why I'm asking...

All the HP I've ever seen pictures of look like this one:

Yes indeed. Serial nbr and test proof should be visible trough the ejection port.
On the other side there should be WaA's.
Anything can be possible. Markings ground off, late war barrel that went not trough the whole process, replacement barrel etc... . MI (like MR on the frame) is a German production marking though.

Late to this discussion, but bigdibbs88 is correct - the pistol was manufactured early in 1944. Your gun is also in the correct range to still have wooden grips. Later in 1944 they began using bakelite grips.

Here's the info I have on serial ranges...

          1943
SN 204,801 through 212,000 for a total of 7,200 before moving into the "a" block. Then - 00001a through 93,800a for a total of 93,800
          Total production for 1943 - 101,000

          1944
SN 93,801a through 99,999a for a total of 1,200 before moving into the "b" block. Then - 00001b through 63,000b for a total of 63,000
          Total production for 1944 - 64,200

I have forgotten the source of this info as I received it many years ago, but have found it to be accurate. Hope this helps....
