    Soviet 7.62mm X 25mm Ammo boxes

Does anyone know how the Soviet GPW forces issued this Cal ammo, I'm wanting to have some cardboard cartens as reloads for my GPW combat kit. They must have issued it in small boxes loose with about 15 to 20 rounds per box, does anyone have pictures so I can make some to fill out my pouchs.
    Thanks.

Hi Viktor, I have a 1938 dated one in my collection. I will take some photos of it for you tomorrow, and take some measurements too. It is a wedge shaped cardboard carton tied up with string. They hold 15 rounds and fit the pouch perfectly

    Cheers, Ade.

Maybe we could have a load made for comrades

Adrian, Are you talking about 7.62/54 for the moisin nagant rifles? I have seen these as well. I think Viktor is referring to 7.62/25 cal ammo for the tokarov pistols and the ppsh sub guns!

Oops! Just saw that It was the references to filling pouches that threw me.

But I do have a 7.62 x 25 box as well, but not WW2 Soviet. But I will dig it out and photo it anyway.

          Cheers, Ade.

Hi Viktor, here are the pics. (I should add that we know each other from living history events here in the UK.)

Size is 85mm long x 50mm wide and 40mm in depth.

I bought this box, together with 4 stripper clips full of rounds for £35. These rounds are very hard to find here in the UK. They came from a Flemish dealer who always attends Beltring. He is very reasonable on prices and I tend to buy from him each year.
            Cheers, Ade.

Pictured ammo box is Czech made. Originally contains five stripper clips each for 8 rounds. Tokarev 7,62 x 25 cartridges were used in "vzor 52" pistol and in submachine gun "samopal 24 or 26". Both samopal 24 and 26 are equipped with simple magazine filler on right foregrip side.
