    Luger Unit Marking ???

I have a mismatched shooter Luger I have had for years. The frame is unit marked. Can anyone decipher it and what year did the Germans stop unit marking Lugers? Thanks for your help

Your photograph is a bit blurred but if I read it correctly as "A./J.R.18.16.4." then one can interpret this as Ausbildungs-Bataillon of the 18th Infantry Regiment, company 16, weapon number 4. This is according to the Reichswehr 1922 Directive on property markings.

Army unit markings were discontinued with the coming of the National Socialists by a directive dated 10 January 1934. I believe that Navy weapon marking continued up to at least 1937 when all unit marking including police was discontinued.

Judging by your unit markings, the P08 frame is probably of DWM or Erfurt manufacture but could also be a Simson rework.
