    Sniper rifle

I have a Saur sniper rifle with the scope ring numbered to the rifle. Is there anyway to positiviley verify that the numbers on the scope ring are to the period and not post war?

I good photo of the number would be needed as a minimum. Better would be good close ups of the mount with scope on and off from several angles along with the same for the rifle and the scope.

I think that the Sauer's were numbered along the top edge of the front left side base? Mauser's were numbered on the left side forward ring.

Someone more familiar with the Sauer Turret mount should jump in, but another thing to check for is the number of the WaA (if one is present) on the rear base.
