    Good work!

Looks like the front of the bolt is high in the receiver. This indicates that either the rails are misaligned, broken, missing etc and the bolt head was probably having a hard time finding its path rearward. Seeing actual pictures of the receiver bend is more then enough to cause the bolt to seize up and not move as I said above. Can you remove the barrel or is the front fused to the bushing?

      Great piece - !

Very nice in any collection - and to use an old cliche - imagine the stories that one could tell!

End of barrel was never fused to bushing, Barrel extension and bolt were locked together and were difficult to release. Knocked barrel back enough to release bolt rollers to be able to knock bolt back , The rails and receiver are bent so the bolt is definitely mis-lined and wedged in receiver which is why it looks odd but it does let the complete bolt be seen fully now, The roller still have faint (eagle wings + number) still visible. With the bolt were it is in receiver lets barrel to be removed as barrel door works fine but it is a bit fragile so had to shave a little of barrel were it contacts recuperator spring to make barrel easier to fit and remove.

PS The belt is the wrong way round...It won't shoot well in that position!!
Very nice mg. I love those relics. You have luck there was no cartridge jammer in the barrel.

A basic rule when dealing with found weapons is: if you can't open it or pull the bolt back, to see if there is no round in the chamber, put a stick or rod down the barrel from the front and mark the distance till the obstacle; then take it out and compare from the outside, to see if it coincides with the bolt's end or if it's shorter, meaning there is something in the barrel chamber. I forgot to advise Rob, sorry
