      Hi John.
yes, original MG42 bakelite stocks in good condition can be so expensive.
the last one i have seen at a german auctionhouse was sold for 400 Euro.but that one was in middle good condition and came back from yugoslavia.
      bakelite stocks are very rare!!!
have you a link from your bakelite stock or show the pics again.

      Greetings NORDLAND

Now I will have some doubts. Buying it or not ?

Personally, I don't mind so much if the wooden buttstock has some holes because of worms. It shows a bit more its age

What give me the doubts are the parts such like the flash hider and the bipod mainly. I know both were changed. The bipod has an eagle mark, but the color is really light. The paint also disturbs me.

I am not sure about the rest.

                        Hello John.
The barrel on henriks one is separate, so possibly an early spec?

There no point in all original pieces if bluing is done after war and added markings like as electropen numbers. then that is not original and value is less!
