That is one rare Japanese rifle!

I won't download the guy's pictures for our Forum.
    It's for sale on GunBroker.
You can still see it for 5 days. I had no idea these existed.
I know there is supposed to be a Japanese made copy of the M1 Garand, but I have never seen one.
Here is the link to this one.

It's not a Garand copy, it's a copy of the Czech zh-29 rifle. The Japanese captured a bit of these Chinese contract rifles in Manchuria, and made their own version for trials.

Oh yessir, I understand that it isn't a copy of the Garand. I just didn't know that the Japanese did any other copies of any other semiautos.

Here is a link to a picture of the Japanese Garand copy. It was in a display case at the Firearms Museum in Cody, WY so I couldn't get the angle that I would have liked to have:

              Tim,

Certainly quite a rifle but IMO what a ridiculous auction venue choice to offer such a valued item! Nothing against GB but would love to see data that supports routine auction sales over 10K never mind 20K.

Pretty sure serial #4 is the one owned by either Tom Nelson or Danny Musgrave back in the 1960's. If I remember correctly, this rifle and a Japanese Garand were for sale at OGCA at the same time. Again, if I remember correctly, the rifles were priced in the $1,400 range. As yes, those were the good old days....

That sale is Jerry, from Recon Ordnance, that's where I bought some of my 922r compliant MP44 parts, also bought WW2 ammo and original parts from him - all very good.
He had the SSD/ptr Semi MP44's for a while.

Has been relisted numerous times. In my opinion, in this economy it's overpriced. Probably why it's been around so long
