MAB 1938 markings question

Dear forum members!

I had an oportunity to purchase MAB 1938 produced for Romanian contract. I just wonder what these marking could say?

#1 - What mark is this, for what stands 3042?
#2 - I heard tha this is Italian fabbric acceptance mark. s this correct?
#3 - any thought on what is this? To me looks like anchor and helemt

I'm not sure but #1 reminds me of the BKA (german police) deactivation stamps: Beschussamt Köln (Cologne proof house).The number would be the inspector's number.

Carles thanks for the input! But this is not German police deactivation stamp, there are three crowns inside the rhomb.

Yes, I know, it is the symbol of Beschussamt Köln (Cologne proof house), the shield with three crowns. Such stamps are know as "BKA diamond" and required by the police when deactivating weapons in Germany. There are six Proof Houses in Germany. Just click on the link in my other post.

Aha now I see! I thought that the lettering BKA is obligatory fot this kind of markings.

Thus this SMG could came from German arsenals or this marking applies on any weapon that collector brings to police for deactivation pocedure? How this works?

It only means someone, armourer company or private collector, took it to be deactivated. I believe german old deactivated weapons don't even have the stamp.

Argan many thnaks! Were they all delivered to Romania or some SMGs were spread among Italian/German and other Axis? Any background info on them?
