    1944 K98 what's it worth?

I came into possession of what I believe is a 1944 K98 Mauser, can anyone give me an idea of what it's worth?

Will need much more info than that. Pics, markings, condition, etc.

Looks like missmatched bcd4 late war piece, with shelaced buttstock, that is not confirmed from the piece, but it could be, the bolt have other number.Firstly it should be cleaned and the glossy paint removed.

Condition of the bore is important. Value? $350-$450??

Hard to tell completely. I can't completely tell if the rifle is a Russian Capture K98K but the shellac'ed stock, the mismatch components give me the idea that it might be. If there is electroplating on the bolt or if there is an x on the receiver then it probably is an RC. They didn't always peen the swastikas on the RC rifles.

An RC K98K with a good bore is going to go for around 400 bucks, give or take. They have limited collectable value but they are fun shooters and unlike a complete matching rifle you don't fear something breaking on the gun when you take it to the range.
